I am a Teacher

Education is very important for our life. In education , we have two persons that have important character, they are teacher and student. To become a teacher, we have not to have a title, Master of Education. According to me, the title is only a prestige, but to teacher we have to be able to have attitude like a teacher that care, love, wise and can be a “friend” for our student.
In Sanata Dharma University, I take Education Faculty especially, English Education Study Program. Actually, I do not a motivation to be a teacher. I only take this program to develop my english. I am proud of my myself because I have successed to take one of the best faculty in Sanata Dharma University. In this university, I learn many subject to develop my English. But, I also learn how to be a good teacher. It is not a choice, but it must because I take education study program. There are many prepare to be a teacher. We not only need a good skill in English but also have a good attitude to be a teacher. I am grateful because in this university, we learn how to balance our ability, between academic and our soft skill that very useful for us to face the job world.
In prose class, I have read a novel that very interesting because this novel tells about a young girl who teaches her students. The interesting one is when a young girl who still fifteen years old successes to be a good teacher because all of her students can study well in the class. I think it is a good experience. I have an experience to be a teacher. When the accident of Merapi eruption, there were many children could not go to the school because their school had broken. They had to lose their house even their family. It was so tragic. So, I and some of my friend wanted to help them. We made a community that named “Bambu Ireng”. We visited some evacuation places and made a “pendampingan anak”. This program had the purpose to help many children in the evacuation places studied together. I thought the children to make some creativity like origami and many handmade, or we were playing and singing together. I made a conclusion that being a teacher is fun although sometimes I got some problems. Being a teacher is not easy. We have to be wise and can be a model for our student.
In These Happy Golden Years novel, Laura has experienced bad and good experiences to be a teacher but she success to trough the way. Laura can be a model for me how to be a good teacher. When she got the problems, she had to be wise to solve the problems and finally she can do it well. I amaze for Laura because she was fifteen years old but she has been a good teacher for her student. I have had an opportunity to be like Laura. In this university, I will survive to be a good teacher in the future. I wish I can do it well. Actually, it is not easy, but I will try and always try to solve the problem wisely. I believe there is a rainbow after the rain. It means that all of the problems can be solved depend on how we handle it. The problems can be an experience to be better than before. I believe it and I will do the best so I will get the good result. That is GOOD TEACHER in the future.
